Offering a wonderful antique handcrafted FRENCH WAX MANNEQUIN HEAD styled as a young flapper girl, circa 1920s. The wax mannequin head has been used to form a bottle stopper.
The flapper girl has a beautiful facial expression and her features--eyes, mouth and brows are hand painted. Peaking out under her flapper scarf/hat is her original blond curly hair and her head is placed atop the bottle cork. The scarf/hat appears to be taupe grey in the photos but is actually closer to a beige gold. The head is about 3" tall not including the cork; or 4 ½” including the cork.
The wax is in overall great vintage condition for being nearly 100 years old with only a few imperfections. Some of the paint has worn off from her face and the small chain on the scarf is loose on one side (I haven't repaired it as it the chain easily tucks under the scarf). The cork is also in very good condition. Please review the photos closely. They have been taken from several angles to provide clarity on the condition of the wax. Please note wax on chin where there is an small imprint from the chain.
