The Boy's Story of LINDBERGH THE LONE EAGLE is a novel by Richard Beamish published by the John C. Winston Company in 1928. Several black and white photographs fill the book. Dark green cloth-bound hard cover featuring a mounted color illustration featuring Charles Lindbergh and his plane, the Spirit of St. Louis.
The 320-page book is in good to very good condition. Very good condition in that the book shows minor signs of wear but no tears, but only good in that the dust jacket is missing and the binding has begun to come loose from the front cover, which could be easily repaired.
The Boy's Story of LINDBERGH THE LONE EAGLE tells the story of Charles Augustus Lindbergh, a 25-year-old mail pilot of the United States, who took the monumental trip from Roosevelt Field, outside of New York, to Paris in the epic flight of the Spirit of St. Louis. The book was written in the same year as Lindbergh's historic flight.
About the Author: Born in 1869, Richard Joseph Beamish was a Pennsylvania lawyer and journalist. He served a term as the state's Secretary of the Commonwealth, and served on the state's Public Utilities Commission. In the mid 1890s, he became editor of the Scranton Free Press, and later was editor and journalist for several Philadelphia newspapers. Beamish died of a heart attack on October 1, 1945, at his home in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Beamish also authored The History of World War, a narrative history of the world's greatest war in collaboration with Francis March.
