This photograph, taken by Luke Photo Studio located at at 1240 Nuuanu Street in Honolulu likely captures the moment two women arrived in Hawaii aboard a Matson luxury cruise liner. This voyage would have granted them access to two of the most renowned hotels of the time--the Royal Hawaiian and the Moana.
Based on Matson history and the fashion choices - belted dresses with draped bell sleeves worn with gloves and bow-tied strap pumps - this photograph is estimated to have been taken between the 1927 and 1935.
Photograph is in very good condition with a slight crease on the left side. Stamped with the photographer's studio name and address on the back and displayed in the original paper frame.
