Pretty pink roses with green leaves and gray scrolls decorate this Limoges LARGE SALAD SERVING BOWL made by W.M. Guerin France.

The scalloped rim is sponged with gold paint every few inches and a raised embossed scrollwork design decorates the sides of the bowl. Two marks are stamped on the base of the bowl, which Old Stuff Porcelain Marks dates from 1900 - 1932.

The LARGE SALAD SERVING BOWL measures 9 ¼” in diameter by 3 ½” high and is in great condition with no cracks or crazing. There is some darkening on the base edge.

About W.M. Guerin:  William (Guillaume) Guérin founded his porcelain factory in 1872 when he bought the porcelain workshop of Lebon & Cie, and just five years later the porcelain factory located in Limoges.

When Guérin died in 1912, his two sons took over the company and merged it with Pout creating J.Pouyat, William Guérin et Cie. The factory closed in 1932 due to growing competition and the 1929 financial crisis. Sadly, the factories archives and thousands of molds and models were destroyed.
