Beautiful PASSION OF THE CHRIST CRUCIFIX HOLY WATER FONT. The beautifully crafted porcelain holy water font is hand-glazed in white with silvery-gold gilt. Designed with a hole on the top of the cross for hanging on a nail.
The body of the holy water font is a silvery-gold gilt highlighted statue of the Christ. Encircling the entire body of the Christ and the cross is a holy mandorla or aureola. The mandorla is also highlighted with silvery-gold gilt.
Gold gilt also decorates the vessel--on the rim and a leaf motif design on the front. Although not marked, the font is reminiscent of German or French antique porcelain fonts. The holy water font is in good condition other than much or the silvery-gold gilt is worn. It has no chips or cracks.
